Rain, Lightning, and Thunder! Oh My!

Oklahoma City Thunder

Number of Tweets: 18.2 K
Number of Followers: 1.2 M

This is an exciting time for the OKC Thunder, who find themselves back in contention for a run at a Western Conference title for the first time in a few years. There was a lot of talk about this team going into the season, and so far, they have been living up to expectations with spectacular play from their stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. It doesn't hurt that this weekend was All Star Game weekend, and Westbrook won MVP for the second year in a row, the first player to ever accomplish that feat.

Because of the All Star Game, the feed was chock-full of storylines, pictures, and videos of the team's stars participating in the festivities. As a result, I really had to dig to find the more "run of the mill" content. To start, the profile picture and cover photo are standard, but good. It is apparent that the team has a massive following (1.2 M followers), yet isn't extremely active on the account (18.2 K tweets). The feed features a lot of video highlights, recaps of scores and stats, and occasional discussion of off-the-court material. There are few retweets, and what appears to me no direct responses to other accounts (or fans). The account is functional, but doesn't really stand out.

Average Score: 3.375
Aesthetics: 3.5
A nice profile picture and cover photo, along with tons of media content (either a photo or video on almost every tweet) make the page slightly above average. There isn't much that stands out, however.
Useful/Informative Content: 4
There are tons of highlights and graphic recaps of game results and storylines. There are some player spotlights, and pictures from practices. Points lost for not much "off-the-court" content.
Creativity: 3
While the account uses emojis in a fun way, there isn't much creative about this account at all. It functions very well, but doesn't do much of anything that is unique.
Engagement: 3
Twitter presents a grand opportunity for organizations to interact directly with consumers (fans). The account almost never retweets anyone, and doesn't seem to ever directly respond to any accounts. The likes and retweets on posts are pretty high, which is the only thing preventing a lower score here.
